EM News Feed

If you use a News reader, you can now add the Everything Macintosh news feed to your list to receive our news and technotes. Just use the link http://everythingmacintosh.com/rss/rssfeed.php .
A News reader is software that automatically monitors news of interest to you, and downloads headlines and articles to your desktop with out having to go to each site separately.
I use NetNews Wire, which works with MacOS X only. For a MacOS 9 News reader click here.
These applications use internet addresses for newsfeeds to retrieve the headlines and content automatically. Think of it as the feeds that come from AP news to the newspaper or TV station, except you get it directly. (The feeds don’t have to come from news sites, they can be from any site that provides them.)
I like using the news reader because I can get the content without all the extra junk on the site. No pop-up ads, banners, unrelated material…. just the news I want. Basically if you frequent a site and see a button or link for RSS or XML, that’s a newsfeed link that you can subscribe to. The Newsreader has built in sites that you can subscribe to as well, ranging from technical sites, general news, sports, etc. To add to your collection of news feeds, check out www.syndic8.com and www.newsisfree.com for more links.
